Privacy Policy

Last updated June 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Oprus (“Oprus”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use oprus.app, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. Oprus is the controller of the personal data described here.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) processes your email address and, if you choose, your name and password. We don’t store your password.

Subscription & payment

If you upgrade to Pro, payments are handled by Stripe. We store your subscription status and tier; we never receive or store your full card details.

Preferences

Guest settings, such as your selected cities and time format, are stored locally in your browser, not on our servers.

Approximate location

On first load we may estimate your approximate location from your IP address to show your local time. We do not store this.

Usage & device data

We and our hosting provider (Vercel) collect basic technical data, such as request logs, IP address, and device or browser type, to keep the service reliable and secure.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide and maintain the service, remember your preferences, manage your account and subscription, communicate with you about the service, prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations, and improve Oprus.

Where required by law, we rely on a lawful basis to process your data, including performing our contract with you, your consent (for example, certain cookies and advertising), our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, and compliance with legal obligations.

Cookies & similar technologies

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. Where required, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work without them.

Advertising & analytics

On free tiers, we display advertising provided by third parties, including Google. These partners may use cookies and similar technologies to measure and personalize ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising through your Google Ad Settings and through industry tools such as the ones offered by the Digital Advertising Alliance, and you can manage cookies in your browser.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state laws.

How we share information

We share data only with the providers needed to run Oprus: Clerk (authentication), Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), and advertising partners on free tiers. Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights and users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

International transfers

Oprus is operated as a global service, and your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect your information when it is transferred.

Data retention

We keep account and subscription data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time to remove your personal data, subject to legal, security, and billing retention requirements.

Security

We rely on reputable providers and industry-standard safeguards to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a data breach where required by law.

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to restrict or object to certain processing or withdraw your consent. California residents may request that we disclose or delete personal information and may exercise the rights described above; we do not sell or share personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@oprus.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Children

Oprus is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Third-party links

Oprus may link to third-party websites and services that we do not control. This policy does not apply to them, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and we’ll provide notice of material changes where appropriate.
